Saba Expands Presence in Japan With New Office and Managing Director

Saba Responds Aggressively to Growing e-Learning Demand in Japanese Market

REDWOOD SHORES, Calif., Sep 5, 2002 /PRNewswire-FirstCall via COMTEX/ -- Saba (Nasdaq: SABA), the leading provider of Human Capital Development and Management (HCDM) solutions, today announced that it has opened an office in Tokyo, Japan, and has appointed Kazuo Hosoi as Managing Director for Japan. Saba is responding to Japan's growing demand for learning solutions by providing localized solutions and services that support the performance objectives of Japanese organizations.

Saba is actively entering the Japanese market. It will leverage its industry-leading partners including NTT DATA, Itochu Techno-Science Corporation (CTC), and Global Knowledge Japan to deliver learning solutions that assure business execution to organizations in the Japanese market. Japanese organizations can also leverage the Saba Language Enhancement Pack supporting the Japanese language and locale, to easily deploy best-of-breed Saba solutions to customers, partners, and employees.

Hosoi brings to the job extensive experience in the Japanese software industry. He has worked at IBM, ASCII NT, and SAP Japan. While at SAP, he built SAPs Human Resources Solutions Company from scratch into a company with more than 150 clients and an 80% share of the market. Hosoi is also the author of "Digital HR," which will be published this October in Japan. His extensive experience and contacts in the enterprise software industry make him a valuable addition to the Saba management team.
